Hole Is Mine Upgrade Checklist

Tick the nodes that matter so three hundred–plus upgrades stay under control.

Upgrade Checklist

Use this Upgrade Checklist as a session worksheet for Hole Is Mine. It is written in markdown checkboxes so it feels interactive while you dig—tick items mentally, in a copied note, or as you replay the page after a patch. Pair every section with Upgrade Priority so you know why a box exists, and with Early Game Builds so openings stay coherent.

How to use the checklist

  1. Pick a spend sequence (Alpha economy, Beta walls, or Gamma Incursion) from Upgrade Priority.
  2. Work top to bottom inside one section before hopping randomly.
  3. After each Incursion, reassess which section is the real bottleneck.
  4. Log Depth outcomes on the Depth Tracker.
  5. Record gear that made a box obsolete on the Build Planner.

Shelly still moves with WASD and mines with left click; Mini’Ohs still need a funded carry. Checklists do not replace play—they prevent vanity spending across the ~40 Depth campaign and into Infinite Hole.

Core loop reminders

  • Bag feels meaningfully full before most throws
  • One carry Mini’Oh is clearly funded above peers
  • Mining speed does not outpace collection for long
  • Survival is high enough that sleepers are manageable
  • Incursion timing is intentional, not panic spam

Mining tree checklist

  • Early strike / clear speed node purchased
  • Axe synergy unlocked to support Heavy or Heaxy lines
  • Mid-tree mining node bought only after bags keep up
  • Stopped dumping mining currency during empty-bag Depths
  • Revisited mining after a wall-heavy Depth failure

Collection & Mini’Oh checklist

  • Carry Mini’Oh identified and written down
  • First carry power upgrade purchased
  • Haul / capacity support online
  • Sleeper wake routine practiced once per push
  • Support Mini’Ohs funded only after carry lead is obvious
  • Clone Mini’Oh related upgrades deferred until template is strong
  • Roles reassigned after a failed Depth (see Mini’Ohs Guide)

Incursion & throw checklist

  • Throw reliability before greedy payout maxing
  • At least one successful full-feeling Incursion this session
  • Throw gear evaluated only after collection works
  • Notes taken when an Incursion underperformed (timing vs power)
  • Payout multipliers bought after reliability feels safe

Survival & long-session checklist

  • Basic survival insurance purchased
  • Bravery Helmet–style piece equipped when pushes reset often
  • Friendship Wool–style synergy considered for crew builds
  • Holy Blook path evaluated for multi-hour sessions
  • Blood / equip leveling nodes bought only when time-on-tool is real
  • Panic vanity buys frozen during a hard wall

Equipment-aligned checklist

Cross off only when both gear and matching upgrades agree:

  • Best axe slot filled (Heavy / Heaxy target noted)
  • Helmet / wool survival slot not empty on hard Depths
  • Holy Blook plan written if chasing leveling
  • Clone item plan written if carry is proven
  • Compared keepers against Equipment Tier List
  • Slot names confirmed on Equipment List

Session end checklist

  • Depth reached recorded
  • Bottleneck named in one sentence
  • Next three upgrade boxes circled
  • Carry Mini’Oh name still correct
  • Infinite Hole goals not mixed into early campaign spends

Anti-checklist (do not tick these early)

  • Equal upgrades for every Mini’Oh “for fairness”
  • Endgame multipliers before bag basics
  • Clone investment before a carry exists
  • Random tree hopping every purchase
  • Ignoring Incursions because mining feels busy

If you find yourself wanting these anti-items, reread Upgrade Priority and the Players Hub guidance.

Patch reset protocol

When balance changes land:

  • Untick contested mining and throw boxes
  • Revalidate S-tier gear assumptions
  • Re-test carry Mini’Oh identity for one Depth
  • Update Build Planner loadout sections

Closing

A checklist is only as honest as your bottleneck calls. Keep the collect–upgrade–Incursion rhythm visible, specialize the carry, and let boxes guide currency—not the other way around. Return to the Tools Hub for planner and tracker companions, and keep Builds pages one click away when a tickable item needs deeper explanation. Dig with intent; spend with ticks.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Hole Is Mine progression and builds.

Do the checkboxes save automatically?

Not as a cloud app. Treat them as a worksheet: copy into notes or mentally tick as you play, then revisit the page structure each session.

Which section should I finish first?

Core loop reminders, then Collection & Mini'Oh for most openings. Switch to Mining or Incursion when those bottlenecks dominate.

How does this relate to Upgrade Priority?

Upgrade Priority explains order and philosophy; this checklist is the executable tick list. Use them together.

Should Infinite Hole use a different checklist?

Reuse the same sections, but emphasize multipliers, clones, and Holy Blook leveling after the campaign spine is done.

What if I disagree with a box?

Adapt for your bottleneck. The anti-checklist exists to catch common failure modes, not to shame experimentation in Infinite Hole.
